Mussels are the most popular variety of shellfish. They are cultivated mainly in Northern Greece and are cooked in many ways and accompanied with many foods: steamed, with melted cheese, grilled, with pasta, risotto, fried, gratin, etc. Mytilos mussels are carefully selected and go through all the necessary quality control procedures to ensure their quality and are safe to consume. After successfully going through all stages (washing, sanitation, pack- aging, microbiological analysis), they get their Mytilos tag and are taken to market.
